ACT Residual Testing

USU Tooele Testing Center

Advance Notice to take Test Required*

 

Eligibility - ACT Residual Testing is only available for students who:

  • are enrolled,
  • have been admitted to, or
  • are applying to Utah State University Tooele.

   Students who do not intend to attend USU Tooele may not take the ACT Residual Testing here.

Cost

    The 2011/2012 fee is $45.00 (cash or check only).  We are unable to provide change.

*Registration

Advance registration is required. Contact the Testing Center by phone (435)882-6611 ext 3109) to schedule a test. The Residual ACT Test is offered on the first Saturday of every month at 9:00am, so walk in testing is not permitted. The ACT exam for June will be held on June 15.  The ACT exam for July will be held on July 13. July 6th testing has been cancelled in honor of the Independence Day holiday.

Scores

Scores from Residual Testing are valid only at Utah State University and cannot be transferred by transcript or other means to any other institution or agency.

  • Scores from Residual Testing are reported only to Utah State University.
  • No Student Reports and no High School Reports are generated.
  • No Additional Score Reports will be generated to report scores to any other institution.

Re-taking the ACT

ACT restricts the number of times a student may take the ACT to 12 times total. Residual Testing DOES count toward that maximum. Scores that exceed the maximum will be canceled without refund.

A minimum of 60 days must elapse before another Residual Test may be taken. Scores achieved before the minimum elapsed time will be cancelled without refund.

How long does the test take?

Just over 4 hours, including administration instructions and breaks. Actual testing time is 2 hours and 55 minutes, broken down as follows:

  • English: 45 minutes
  • Math: 60 minutes
  • Reading: 35 minutes
  • Science: 35 minutes
