Studies in Liberal Arts and Sciences are oriented toward helping students to develop personal and career goals. To enhance opportunities for employment and service, the interdisciplinary approach provides a unique opportunity to combine social and cultural understanding with analytical abilities. Students graduating in Liberal Arts and Sciences have been admitted into professional programs, such as medicine and law, and to many graduate schools. They also enter various business professions, having gained sophisticated but general training which can be translated into specific job responsibilities. Early definition of professional objectives, as well as a second major, is strongly encouraged and can provide concrete directions for career goals.
